The late Malachy Donnelly The death took place at Roscommon County Hospital of Mr Malachy Donnelly, Rahara. Aged 85, deceased was a member of a very well known and long established Rahara farming family. Of a caring an affable disposition, he was a very progressive dry-stock farmer and had been associated with many sporting and community activities in his native Parish throughout his life. He played club football for many years with the the old St Patrick's GAA Club and he was also a member of the Rahara tug-o-war team of the forties which found itself in the winners enclosure in many competitions throughout the midlands and west. He was also an accomplished card player and he was noted for his sense of neighbourliness and for performing many charitable deeds and kind acts with typical self effacement. Predeceased 15 years by his wife, Dolly (nee Fallon, Kilcask), he was a member of a family of six, three boys and three girls, and is survived by his brother, Luke, Sydney and sister, Mrs Josie Moran, Glasnevin, Dublin; Mrs Nancy O'Loughlin, Dundrum, Dublin and Mrs Bridgie O'Brien, Millnaughton, Kiltoom. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and a number of other relatives. Following Concelebrated Mass at Rahara Church and Rahara cemetery. The celebrants of the Mass were Very Rev Michael Donnelly, PP, Drumcliffe, a native of Rahara and a cousin of the deceased; Rev Donal Morris, CC, St John's and Very Rev.
