Murray, Oliver

The Murray family, Knockcroghery have been bereaved by the death of their uncle, Mr Oliver Murray (Ollie) of Belleen, Nenagh who passed away peacefully at Nenagh Manor Nursing Home on December 5th where he had been a patient for some time.
He was aged 80 years, born in 1933. He was the youngest of a family of ten, eight boys and two girls, born to the late John and Susan Murray. He was educated at Knockcroghery NS. CBS, Roscommon. He pursued further studies at Dublin University and qualified as a civil engineer. He was attached to the staff of North Tipperary County Council. In his younger years he was an accomplished footballer and was a member of the Roscommon minor team, which won the All-Ireland title in 1951. He also won a senior county championship with St. Patrick's in 1949. He is now sadly missed by his wife, Maura; daughter, Muireann; sisters, Maura Murray, Dublin; Sue Casey, Castlebar, nephews, nieces, grand nieces and nephews, son-in-law, Tom, sisters in law, brothers in law, cousins, relatives and friends. His burial took place in Lisboney Cemetery. He was predeceased by his seven brothers.
