Roscommon 1-11
Galway 0-11

Dylan Ruane's 38th minute goal proved decisive as Roscommon overcame Galway in an ill-tempered encounter at Tuam Stadium to set up a Connacht U20FC final showdown with Mayo next Sunday.

Cian McKeon also weighed in with 0-7 (0-6 frees) for the winners who will have home advantage for the decider against a Mayo side who were facile winners over Leitrim earlier in the day.

Galway will rue red cards for Finian Ó Laoi, after only seven minutes, and Rob Finnerty, who was sent off along with Roscommon's Liam Cregg in the closing stages. Despite Ó Laoi's early dismissal following an off-the-ball incident with Lorcan Daly, the Tribesmen went into the break on level terms, 0-5 apiece, after leading by 0-4 to 0-1 after 11 minutes thanks to scores from Dessie Conneely and Finnerty.

Roscommon hit back with points from Aaron Brady (free), Paul Carey, McKeon and sub Damien Duff to regain parity before half-time and they were never headed after Ruane scored the only goal past Oran Burke eight minutes after the restart.

Finnerty and Darragh Silke got points back for the hosts, but their numerical disadvantage eventually told as McKeon fired the Rossies into the final.
