Ros' not the finished article

Roscommon manager Kevin McStay believes that his side are finding some consistency in their results, but not their performances.

The Rossies are in an ideal position going into the last round of fixtures in the NFL 2 campaign as a win against Cork guarantees them promotion. This would see the Connacht side return to the top flight after just one year.

Last weekend's win against table toppers Cavan was a huge boost for morale. However, McStay feels that despite being consistent in their results, they need to find more consistency in their performances going forward.

"We're getting consistency in terms of our results, but not really in terms of our performance. If we had a more consistent performance, we could take someone out badly. We are threatening to put up a big score," said McStay.

The Mayo native added that it would be massive for them to make a quick return to the top flight. And he feels that being in the position that they are is massive.

"It would be great to get promoted. I said at the beginning of the league that we wanted to get promoted. The only reason we won't be going to Division One is because we are not good enough."
