Castleblayney HC 2-13, Inniskeen 0-9.
Castleblayney retained their senior hurling championship title to make for 27 titles in all when they proved too strong for a battling Inniskeen side in this fairly low-key and at times scrappy encounter that was played in Clontibret yesterday. C'Blayney laid the foundation for victory in the first half at the end of which they led by 2-8 to 0-6, Niall Garland and Hugh Byrne with the goals and but for some poor finishing they could have been much further ahead. Possession wise it was a little bit closer in the second-half but again Castleblayney's finishing always left the door open but Inniskeen lacked the firepower and penetration to turn it around as the reigning champions finished with four unanswered points in the final quarter to seal a comfortable victory.
