Clontibret (Monaghan) 0-10
St. Gall's (Antrim) 0-9
Seven points from Conor McManus, including the winner, saw Clontibret edge past St. Gall's at Clones and into an Ulster club SFC semi-final against either Slaughtneil or Cavan Gaels.
The Monaghan champions, who scored a last-gasp win over Kilcoo in the preliminary round, came from six points down to snatch another victory from the jaws of defeat. St. Gall's cause wasn't helped by the dismissal of county hurler Jackson McGreevy on a straight red card as Clontibret mounted their comeback.
Such an outcome could not have been predicted after the Milltown men registered six unanswered points in the opening 10 minutes, with CJ McGourty, Aodhan Gallagher and Michael Pollock among the scorers. The locals had to wait until the 22nd minute for their opening score from McManus as two more white flags from Brian Grennan and Vinny Corey left three in it, 0-3 to 0-6, at the break.
McManus closed the gap with two frees on the restart before McGreevy was given his marching orders following an off-the-ball incident. McManus' fourth point of the second half gave the winners the lead for the first time, but scores from Pollock and McGourty quickly restored St. Gall's advantage.
The sides traded further scores to leave 0-9 each before McManus won it at the death.
