Clontibret (Monaghan) 1-9
Kilcoo (Down) 0-11
Dessie Mone scored a late goal to give Clontibret a dramatic win over Kilcoo in today's Ulster club SFC preliminary round clash at Pairc Esler.
In a game which produced three red cards, the Monaghan champions snatched victory from the jaws of defeat to set up a quarter-final meeting with St. Gall's, who picked up yet another Antrim SFC title this afternoon. County star Mone was on hand to palm home substitute Michael O'Dowd's centre for the winning goal in stoppage-time.
The winners had Paul McGuigan sent off after he received yellow and black cards, while Kilcoo finished the game with 13 men following the late dismissals of Paul Branagan and Gerard McEvoy.
At half-time, Kilcoo held a slender 0-6 to 0-5 lead, but with All Star Conor McManus landing 0-8 from frees, Dom Corrigan's charges fought back to take a 0-9 to 0-7 lead in the second half.
Kilcoo responded with four unanswered points, including efforts from brothers Jerome and Ryan Johnston, but Mone and Clontibret had the final say.
