Goals vital for Oram win
May 23, 2013
JUNIOR FOOTBALL LEAGUE.
Oram 3-9
Emyvale 1-9
Goals were the vital scores in this free flowing contest as Oram picked up two valuable Dr Ward Cup points on Sunday last when they defeated table toppers Emyvale by six points in an entertaining and keenly contested game in Sarsfield Park, Oram. Emyvale went into the game as favourites and showing good form after an indifferent period, having won three on the bounce while Oram had lost three games on the trot. Ultimately though it was two goals either side of half-time, both by Oram centre forward Ryan Mc Guinness which swung the game in Oram's favour. Mc Guinness with two goals and a point and a goal and five from county u-21 player Pauric Graham were Oram scorers in chief and they along with Rory Murphy and Stephen Mc Bride who were outstanding in the half back line back boned this Oram effort. Emyvale for their part struggled in a number of departments with Daniel Mc Mahon and Paul McCarron being most impressive for the visitors, although they sorely missed the services of Ryan McAnespie.
