Duffy anticipating tough battle in Casement

Monaghan and Latton star Owen Duffy
Owen Duffy says Monaghan are in for a "tough battle" against "wounded animal" Antrim.

The counties experienced contrasting league fortunes, with Monaghan winning the Division Three title while the Saffrons were demoted to the basement tier. There has also been discord in the Antrim camp ahead of the June 9th Ulster SFC meeting at Casement Park leading to Malachy O'Rourke's charges being installed as red-hot favourites.

But Latton clubman Duffy is wary of Frank Dawson's men: "I heard about them falling out that evening after the [league] match but that could unite the squad together and their manager seems to have got them together so we're not underestimating the challenge up there," he says in The Irish News.

"Probably, after the league, we'll be favourites. But going up to Casement is a completely different ballgame altogether.

"It's their home ground and everyone's writing them off after the league and them falling out. They'll be a bit of a wounded animal so it'll be a tough battle for us."
