MFL and MHL updates

MINOR FOOTBALL LEAGUE.
There Were three games down for decision in the minor football league division 1 on Friday evening last May 10th but only two of those games took place with the match between Monaghan Harps and Truagh in Gavan Duffy Park being postponed. The other two games saw Magheracloone take the bragging rights in their south Monaghan derby match against Carrickmacross winning by seven points, 2-14 to 2-7. In the other game that was played Scotstown inflicted a fairly heavy defeat on Emyvale, 3-14 to 1-7 the final score in that one. There is now a break in minor football competitions until after the Leaving and Junior certificate examinations have been completed.

HURLING.
Round 5 of the Development Hurling league was played on Thursday evening last May 9th that saw victories for Castleblayney HC over Carrickmacross by six points, Monaghan Harps HC over Inniskeen by eight points while just a single point gave Truagh victory over Clontibret and moved them into second place in the table behind Monaghan Harps HC who are the only team with a 100% record in the competition. Those results confirm the semi final pairings, Monaghan Harps HC will play Clontibret and Truagh take on Inniskeen with both those games fixed for this evening Thursday May 16th at the venues of the first named and both games at 7.30pm.

MHL.
Meanwhile in the minor hurling league Carrickmacross defeated Castleblayney by 7-12 to 3-3 on Sunday afternoon last. There was another game on Tuesday evening last between Clontibret and Carrickmacross in Clontibret at 7.30pm.

U14 HL.
In the U14 hurling league Monaghan Harps defeated Cootehill Celtic comprehensively by 7-12 to 0-2 on Sunday last. Meanwhile on last Monday evening, May 13th there were two games played, Truagh at home to C'Blayney and Inniskeen away at Carrickmacross.

Monday next May 20th sees another round of matches in the under 14 hurling league with Castleblayney HC at home to Inniskeen, Truagh away at Cootehill Celtic and Carrickmacross with home advantage over Monaghan Harps HC, with all three games at 7:30 p.m..
