Monaghan ace Paul Finlay wouldn't mind playing in front of empty stands as long as he gets the opportunity to play at Croke Park.
A paltry attendance of 7,742 attended the Division 3 and 4 finals last Saturday evening which has raised questions over the feasibility of staging the lower league finals at headquarters.
But Ballybay star Finlay - who scored three points in the Farney County's victory over Meath - wants the GAA to stick with its policy of playing finals at Croke Park.
"I like the fact the finals are in Croke Park and I hope it remains that way," he told Gaelic Life.
"From a players point of view, it's a great pitch and even if there was nobody in the stadium you'd want to play there.
"I'd always hope they are played there no matter what crowd was in the ground."
With Division 3 medals in their back pockets, Malachy O'Rourke's men now turn their attention to their Ulster championship opener against Antrim.
"The win at the weekend was the perfect lift, it means everyone is looking forward to getting ready for the match and the confidence is high.
"We know there's a lot of work still to do, championship football is different football. You won't get as many scores and it won't be as open. Everyone knows that and it's a case of knuckling down and getting ready."
