A more clinical Donaghmoyne booked their place in the final of the intermediate football championship at the expense of Corduff in this rearranged fixture that was played in good conditions in Inniskeen on Friday evening last. Prior to the start a minutes silence was held as a mark of respect for the late Sadie Larkin, Corduff. Donaghmoyne were only headed once in the entire contest and that in the opening minute when Fergal Hanratty opened the scoring for Corduff. By the end of the opening quarter Donaghmoyne were four clear, David Garland in fine form and they went on to lead at half-time by four points, Fergal Hanratty keeping Corduff in touch with his accuracy from play and frees. A goal five minutes into the second half for Corduff threw them a lifeline and reduced the margin to the minimum, but Donaghmoyne responded to pull clear by five points by the end of the third quarter and six points separated the sides going into stoppage time before Corduff got a late consolation goal three minutes into injury time to leave three between them at the finish.
