Ulster Club Championship – A comprehensive display in the second half ensured our mighty seniors advanced to the next round of the Ulster Club Championship on Saturday last against Drumlane in Kildallon. The rain didn’t let up and it was telling as both sides fell foul of mistakes in the opening five minutes with two goals, one for either side. Frees from Daniel, Robbie and David helped Emyvale to a 1.5 to 1.3 lead approaching half time. Then similar to the opening five minutes two more goals were struck and we went in 2.5 to 2.3 in front. Emyvale then commanded their authority on the match with another goal from Stephen Askin at the start of the second half. The defence stood firm and two more goals from David Mc Allister ensured we ran out comfortable winners on a final scoreline of 5.13 to 3.7. There was some impressive individual displays however it was evident that the team collectively ensured they progressed to the next round where they take on Newtownstewart in Clones this Sunday with a throw in time of 12.30.
