PLATINUM TANSK RESERVE FOOTBALL LEAGUE DIVISION 1A FINAL

Scotstown 2-16

Clontibret 1-10

Scotstown staged an increasingly effective second-half performance to clinch the reserve football league division 1A title at the expense of Clontibret in this entertaining contest that was played in somewhat dull conditions in Tyholland on Saturday evening last. Clontibret though were well in this contest in the 1st half where a Dean McDonnell goal helped them establish a foothold but by half-time. Scotstown had turned things around to open a 3 points lead. As the 2nd half progressed Scotstown took a firmer grip on proceedings and their more efficient use of the ball and accuracy up front, particularly from Orin Heaphey and Ruairi Sheehan, saw them pull away to win comfortably enough at the finish.

UNIVERSAL GRAPHICS JUNIOR FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP

Killeevan 3-15

Corduff 2-8

Killeevan got their Junior football championship campaign off to a winning start but it wasn't until the second-half of this lively outing against Corduff that was played in difficult enough conditions in Drumhowan, that they imposed themselves meaningfully but in the end won comfortably enough thanks to a couple of second-half goals. Killeevan started well and had the better of the exchanges in the opening quarter before a goal for Corduff in the 17th minute kick started a strong period that saw them register 1-3 without reply. Killeevan pulled back a goal in the 21st minute and it was nip and tuck in the closing stages of the 1st half with the sides going in deadlocked at half-time. In the second-half Killeevan took a firmer grip on proceedings hitting some excellent points, but ultimately it was goal by substitute John McGuirk and full forward Kevin McGinn that clinched the issue for the Sarsfields.

PLATINUM TANKS RESERVE FOOTBALL LEAGUE DIVISION 2A FINAL.

Ballybay 3-17

Carrickmacross 1-11

A stronger, more clinical Ballybay experienced little difficulty in clinching the reserve football league division 2A title at the expense of an at times wasteful Carrickmacross in what was eventually a fairly one sided encounter that was played in foggy conditions in Blackhill on Saturday evening last.

Ballybay were only headed once in the entire contest and that in the opening minutes when Tadhg Kirk Callaghan converted a free for Carrickmacross. It was a lead that was short lived though as Ballybay responded with 4 quick fire points to take a lead they never subsequently relinquished.

Subs used: Caolan Byrne, Cathal Mooney, Darren Smyth, Daniel McGregor.

Subs used: Fergal Lonergan, Fergal McDermott, Darragh Marron, Ryan Carolan 0-1, Richard Cromwell, Matthew Molloy.
