Clontibret club notes

Shoe City Senior League

It's back to the domestic scene this weekend with the resumption of the Senior League and we have Magheracloone as visitors on Sunday at 1pm.

Platinum Tanks Reserves Clontibret 1-10   Scotstown  2-16

Despite a good first half which saw us go in against the wind just three down at half time we failed to put our stamp on the game in the second half as Scotstown dominated the exchanges. This brings down the curtain on reserve football for the year and just to say, well done, to the players, who put in the effort, along with Padraig and JP who guided them along the way.

All Ireland Semi Final

While disappointment was our lot in Croke Park on Sunday we must be mindful of the wonderful effort put in by the whole team and management during the whole season and the many great days they gave us up and down the country from Omagh to Dungarvan and from Croke Park to Galway since last January. It was a glorious odyssey, with our four representatives, Vinny Corey, Dessie Mone, Conor McManus and Conor Boyle, more often than not the mainstay of the team and we are rightly very proud of them. Well done boys you are a credit to your families, your club and your county. With that phase of the year now over, it's now back to domestic stuff with senior league against Magheracloone this Sunday and the senior championship due to begin next weekend, when we face Latton. Or as Kavanagh put it; "A local row. God's make their own importance"
