Replying To Ratoath Royal:  "RD, it's clear that you are upset that McEntee has not been the messiah that you hoped in year 1. He is obviously a good manager and is definitely a big improvement on the last two years under MOD, but we have simply not got the players to consistently challenge the way you or I would like unfortunately.
From the start of the year, the bizarre hyperbole that you've come out with is what has gotten on people's nerves. Before the league even started, you were not even saying that we had a good chance of promotion, you were saying that it was simply a case of who would join us in promotion. When that didn't happen, you went on about the "mental scars" of MOD's reign being the reason behind it.
Then it got even better! Before the start of the championship, you categorically stated that Louth would be a bigger test for us than Kildare. That Kildare would not be able to live with us only for Kildare to completely outclass us from start to finish.

The bottom line is that you simply cannot handle the fact that some people disagree with your views on McEntee/Biggy. You are more than welcome to criticise other players and managers but if someone dares to criticise the above two, all of a sudden it's because they have an agenda. How about you reign in your unrealistic expectations. I've no doubt we'll make progress under McEntee but it's baby steps given the players he has at his disposal. There's nothing wrong with being optimistic and positive, but the statements you earlier in the year were just crazy and your constant dummy spitting when people challenge your views does not exactly endear you to anyone else."
would agree it is babysteps,it does seem some wanted miracles this year. people will point to certain results etc,but if people actually look at the games they attend, they will see that there have been small improvements this year compared to the last few years. rome wasn't built in a day,we all know how long some of the players and boylan were there before any success. hard to know how far andy can take this current team, because in my view we have alot of good players, but not many(if any) top class players. can some of the current squad develop into top class players? the simple answer is we don't know. i do get encouraged watching some of the underage teams though, there are some footballers with serious potential there and a great attitude. it could be the case that we need to wait on some of those to come through in a few years.
but for now? i would be happy if andy got the best out of us and made us hard to beat so that these talented youngsters have a platform and give some of the current lads a boost going forward.

I'd agree with much of that to be honest. I'm a bit later in the day to this forum so I've no idea about agendas. What I will say though is that some of the posters on here are crushingly negative about anything and everything and it puts you off posting at times. If that negativity is replicated in the stands, then it's difficult for it not to filter down onto the pitch. I'd rather RD's positivity every day of the week. As you said, Rome wasn't built in a day, but I think, and I might be a lone in thinking it, that we have a brighter future ahead of us and Andy Mac will play a key role in delivering that.

I feel royaldunne is getting a very hard time on here lately even when most of the time he is right. some of the time his remarks may be controversial but 99% of the time he is right but people always have to shoot him down

Ah leave it out lads, Royaldunne has as much passion for Meath, or more, than any of ya. No need for the witch hunt, agree to disagree!

there was a lad a few seats behind me at the u17 final and he was slagging off our players the whole game. if you have lads slagging off young players who are doing really well, then i don't know..

Some of us care about Meath football the same if not more than him we just don't feel the need to come on here and the main forum talking sh**e
1- Saying Louth will be our toughest Leinster opponents after Dublin
2- Going on as if we'd beat Kildare easily
3- Still going on about MO'D and what he has done to ruin Meath football
That's just few of the main things RD goes on about. I do agree with a lot of what he says but when he starts up a forum about Agendas and him holding the biggest Agenda against MO'D its a bit hypocritical

Need a thick skin it seems. Are GAA fans perhaps becoming as demanding as soccer fans?

Cheers realdub. As you and I know most of these lads (I include myself) wouldn't be able to get near you on a football field. :).
Passion is a funny thing, I view it as a lifeskill, but sure some of these Celtic cubs want everything now, the lows only make the highs better. I appreciate your support my old friend.
