Jonathan Meyler's late goal stunned Dunboyne as Blackhall gained revenge for last year's county final defeat. Blackhall Gaels 1-9 Dunboyne 0-11 There was little between the sides in the first half but Blackhall held a narrow 0-6 to 0-5 advantage. The second half was dominated by the 2005 champions as Ger Robinson in particular lead the way with a run of impressive points. With five minutes remaining on the clock Dunboyne led by 0-11 to 0-8 and it appeared as though the village side had done enough to qualify for a semi-final meeting with O'Mahony's. However, Meyler got on the end of a move to fist the ball to the net to level the game and then minor star Alan Nestor fired over the winning point.
