Trim footballers lead from start to finish in this one sided SFC game against an understrength Ballinlough in Athboy on Tuesday evening. Trim 0-19 Ballinlough 0-5 The Trim half back line and midfield were dominant in the possession stakes and gave a platform for the forwards to take many scores from play. Ronan Fitzsimons opened the scoring and, with Eoin McGrath very lively up front, Trim opened a 12 points to no score lead before Ballinlough opened their account towards the end of the first half. In fact, Ballinlough could have opened with a goal moments earlier but hit the bar. Besides this the Trim backs had held out well with Joe Tighe particularly effective at full back. Ballinlough reduced the arrears to 0-14 to 0-4 midway through the second half but the gap between the sides was never going to be breached and when Derek Donohue scored an excellent point to put Trim 0-18 to 0-5 ahead, many people were on their way home.
