Beaten finalists of the past two years, Simonstown Gaels, face a major uphill battle to reach the knock out stages of this year's championship after this reverse at the hands of Kilmainhamwood. The writing was on the wall at half-time when the two sides were level - 1-4 apiece - despite the team in sky blue having played with wind advantage. This result now means that Colm O'Rourke's charges must win their three remaining games against St Patricks, Dunshaughlin and Skryne if they are to advance to the knock-out stages.
