Ulster Club minor semi-final refixed

January 03, 2002
The Dale Farm Ulster Club minor football semi-final called off on Saturday last because of snow, has been re-fixed for next Sunday at Shaw's Road, Belfast at 2 p.m. St. Gall's (Antrim) and Clontibret (Monaghan) were due to play originally on Saint Stephen's Day but the snow intervened then as well, and the cancellation of the game on Saturday means that the final, traditionally played on New Year's Day, has had to be pushed back. "That has been provisionally fixed for Saturday, January 12th. We want to get it over before the MacRory Cup colleges competition recommences again,'' says organising Secretary Seamus Murray. Having to face Clontibret next weekend meant that St. Gall's Ulster Club Minor Hurling Championship semi-final game is put further back. It was due to be played before Christmas and then re-scheduled for next Saturday. Many of the St. Gall's minors are involved in both teams.
