September 25, 2017

Nobber's Dale Larkin

Nobber 0-17  Ballinlough 1-11

After an enthralling game Nobber booked their place in the semi/final of this years championship against neighbours St Michaels.

Nobber can thank the unnerving accuracy of Dale Larkin who contributed 9 points and played a huge part in this victory.

Further points from Niall Farrell (3), Brendan Heffernan, Sean Meade, Ger Campbell, Stephen O Brien and Karl Casserly saw them home by 4 at the final whistle.

The first half was a dour affair which saw the sides level on no less than 5 occasions. During this period Ballinlough led by 1 on two occasions the only time in the match which they gained the upperhand. The sides went in level at the break 4 each.

On the restart Brendan Heffernan and Sean Meade pushed Nobber clear with 2 excellent points. Both sides traded further scores and again by by the 44th minute the sides were level, but now with Nobber gaining the upperhand in most vital areas of the field they struck a purple patch firing over 5 points courtesy of Larkin (2), Niall Farrell (2) and Karl Casserly. Ballinlough came back with 1-1 to make for a nervy finish but again the unerring boots of Larkin and Niall Farrell saw Nobber home for a hard fought but well deserved victory

Praise is also due to St Michaels for having their their pitch and surroundings in excellent condition.
