Gaeil Colmcille justified their favourites tag when claiming the Meath Junior B Football Championship title with an eleven point win over Kilbride at Pairc Tailteann.

Gaeil Colmcille 4-16 Kilbride 1-14

Apart from a ten minute spell in the opening half the winners were always in control. Gaeil Colmcille got the perfect start with a well executed goal from half back Danny Muldoon. The winners were five ahead soon after with points from Gary Arkins and Shane Freeman.

Kilbride fought their way back into the game with four pointed frees from Michael Farrell and Stephen McMullen (3). The Kellsmen replied with four of their own, 3 from the impressive Barry Farrelly. Farrelly blasted to the Kilbride net with seven minutes remaining to put his team in firm control but on the stroke of half time centre forward Michael Farrell got in for a goal to give Kilbride some hope. Gaeil Colmcille went in at the break 2-9 to 1-6 in front.

The teams traded three points each in the opening ten minutes of the second half but with 15 minutes on the clock Farrelly set up Stevie McManus for Gaeil Colmcilles' third goal. The Kellsmen were 3-15 to 1-12 in front after 24 minutes. Farrell pointed two frees for Kilbride in the game but when Dylan Roche finished soccer style to the net, Gaeil Colmcille were out of sight. Substitute Cormac Mattimoe closed out the scoring for the winners.

After the game County Board Chairman Conor Tormey presented the Fr Tully Cup to Gaeil Colmcille captain James Flanagan.
