Ferghal McCabe gains possession for Kiltale against Blackhall Gaels

Kiltale 8-16 Blackhall Gaels 0-10

Holders and four in a row chasing Kiltlale destroyed Blackhall Gaels in the third round of the Meath senior hurling championship played in ideal conditions at Ashboune.

Amazingly only nine points separated the teams at the break with the Jubilee Cup holders leading 1-9 to 0-3. In the coresponding fixture last year Blackhall pushed the would be champions all to the way and were unlucky to be on the wrong side of a 3-17 to 0-19 defeat at Pairc Tailteann.

Cathal Sheridan's charges have scored a massive 10-54 in their three Group B games to date and complete the group with games against Dunderry and Boardsmill. More worringly for the chasing pack is that the champions have only used 17 players in their 3 championship games to date.

Jack Regan helped himself to 1-12 while Ross Ryan, Peter Durnin and Ferghal McCabe, who came on as a second half substitute found the Gaels net twice.

Kiltale scorers: Jack Regan 1-12, Peter Durnin and Ross Ryan 2-1 each, Fearghal McCabe 2-0, Cathal McCabe 1-0, Anthony Forde, James Kelly.

Kiltale: Shane McGann, Anthony Donnelly, Philip Garvey, Ciaran Ennis, Ronan Ryan, Stephen Donoghue, Conor Sherin, Anthony Forde, Padraig Kelly, James Kelly, Cathal McCabe, Mark O'Sullivan, Peter Durnin, Ross Ryan, Jack Regan. Sub: Ferghal McCabe
