U16HC: Title for Kiltale

Kiltale captain Ross Ryan raises the Meath U16 Hurling Championship Cup at Ratoath.

Kiltale captured the Meath U16 A Championship Saturday evening in Ratoath thanks to a 5 star performance by Kiltale captain Ross Ryan who finished with a personal tally of 2goals and 7pts.
Kiltale started the brighter with points from Ross Ryan 3pts, Hugh O'Sullivan 2pts before they scored the first goal from Daragh Campion which was disallowed for a square ball.
Kiltale had further points from Andrew Jackson and Cathal Brien and a great long range effort from midfielder Iarla Hughes.
Dunboyne replied with two carey points which was followed by two quick goals for Kiltale one from Daragh Campion and the second from Ross Ryan.
Brian Reilly and Jack Quinn were dominating in the Kiltale full back line and some great long deliveries from half backs Ronan Ryan and Adam Murphy resulted in 2 more points for Ross Ryan and a great effort from midfielder Jack Cummins and the final point of the half from Jack Farrell after a great run through the middle.
The second half was all one traffic after Dunboyne were unlucky to have a player dismissed and further goals from Ross Ryan and Hugh O'Sullivan left no way back for a gallant Dunboyne team who never gave up right to the end.
Kiltale had great performances in the second half from Kyle Benson,Jack Quinn,Brian OReilly and Ronan Ryan in defence and goalkeeper Liam Gilsenan brought off some great saves as Dunboyne tried to get that all ellusive goal.
Iarla Hughes, Jack Cummins and Conor Mc Nally gave Kiltale a great platform around the middle of the field.
Kiltale Forwards Andrew Jackson, Hugh O'Sullivan, Jack Farrel, Cathal Brien and Daragh Campion showed great combination play and took some great scorers but scoring plaudits had to go to captain Ross Ryan who notiched up 2goals 7points.
Kiltale introduced Cathal Ryan for Conor McNally,Sean Duggan for Brian Reilly, Lee Corcoran for Daragh Campion, Graham Loughran for Adam Murphy and Stephen Quinn for Jack Cummins.
After the game Tommy Brennan minor hurling secretary presented the cup to Kiltale captain Ross Ryan.
Ross thanked the Kiltale mentors Sean Ryan and Paddy Kelly and a special word of thanks to club sponsor Ger Lyons.
