County treasurer Brendan Dempsey said that the new tickets scheme had worked well for the under 21 game against Kildare and the league match against Cavan at Pairc Tailteann although people arriving late for the latter caused problems.

Dempsey expressed the wish that clubs would return game receipts from championship games more promptly than before in the coming months.

"Club matches are one of the main sources of income but we have to tighten up and get the returns in quicker. There was a substantial deficit last year and we will be working towards turning the deficit around. We need the support of the clubs to achieve this," he said. Tweet
