Awards: Best Dressed Club

December 20, 2012

Rory Maguire in the Longwood jersey
Three clubs are up for this award - Longwood, Duleek-Bellewstown and Drumconrath.

Drumconrath may be struggling at championship level in recent times but this year saw the club make great strides in the league. Tom Smyth's charges made it to the final only to lose out to a Gary Coyne inspired Cortown. Despite defeat the players turned up at Pairc Tailteann all in their club tops and took to the pitch togged out to perfection in their red jerseys white togs and red socks.

Longwood had a very good season. The hurlers were unlucky to lose a senior semi-final after extra time to Killyon, while their intermediate footballers could have made the knockout stages, the minors footballers won both the league and championship titles, and the junior footballers got to the 'D' final. No matter when or where, 'The Wood' tog out to perfection, white jersey with a black and green trim, with white togs and black socks. On the back of the jersey are the word's 'C'mon the Wood' while under the club crest is written 'Our Time is Now'.

Duleek-Bellewstown always impress the team here at hoganstand.com in the way that every team adult and juvenile take to the field. This year was no different. The seniors got a new sponsor in the 'Energy Centre' and their new style jersey looked very impressive. Against Nobber at Simonstown they wore their normal colours, green and yellow, while they had an alternative, yellow and green, set on display against Summerhill in the last group game.
