Meath legend Colm O'Rourke
Meath legend Colm O'Rourke dusted the cobwebs off his boots to line out for Simonstown in a B FL Division 3 fixture last night.
'The Sunday Game' analyst came to the Navan side's rescue when their third team was short on numbers for their league encounter against St Ultan's in Sean Newman Park and started between the posts.
O'Rourke - who is a member of the management team - pulled off two impressive saves to keep a clean sheet in the first half as Simonstown built up a 2-8 to 0-5 interval lead.
He was, however, powerless to prevent St. Ultan's from netting twice in the second half; although their second goal came via the penalty spot with the last kick of the game.
The game finished 3-14 to 2-11 in Simonstown's favour.
Simonstown - C. O'Rourke; R. Quinn, D. Curran, K. Mitchell; M. Fitzpatrick, B. Clarke (0-3), K. Crosse (1-0); C. McGrath (0-1), N. O'Mahony (1-1); K. Boland, D. Gormley (0-2), B. McDermott; J. O'Dwyer (0-2), K. Brady (1-4), O. Boland. Sub - S. Kieran (0-1) for O. Boland.
