Kilmessan camogiers had a good week this week with both their sides recording comfortable victories over their counterparts in the second round of the championship.

Having suffered a heavy defeat to newly relegated side Kiltale in the opening round, Kilmessan were eager to make amends and overcome newly promoted intermediate side Drumree. The Kilmessan girls started well and kept up the tempo for the whole game with some great scores from Kelly Gorman, Catherine O'Donoghue and Ann Gorman. Treasa Sheridan and Michelle Horan at midfield were others who impressed for Kilmessan. Drumree have some lovely young players like Cliodhna Murphy who with more experience will be a force in the future.

Played in very wet conditions, defending champions Kilmessan made it two wins out of two, with a hard fought victory over Dunboyne. The game was very slow to get going with both teams finding it very hard to score in the opening half, the game improved in the second half with both teams getting to grips with the weather, Kilmessan running out comfortable winners in the end with an 11 point margin. Best for Kilmessan in what was a battling performance were Ailbhe Lynch, Tracy King and Etaoin Doyle in defence while Tara Murphy and Maeve O'Leary were outstanding in the full- forward line scoring 1-4 between them from play.
