Slane U12 girls in scoring form
May 10, 2012
Girls U12 League:
Slane 7-7
Ratoath B 1-1
This was the best performance of the league so far by Slane's under 12 girls team. Ratoath were missing a couple of players on the night but take nothing away from Slane who played some fantastic flowing football.
From the word go, Slane picked up where they had left off in the second half of the defeat to Na Fianna, winning plenty of possession at midfield and Katie Kealy and Mia Lynch were making the most of this plentiful supply. Katie scored 2-2 in the first half, while Mia scored a great hat-trick in the game.
Slane led by 4-6 to 0-0 at the break and the backs showed they were in no mood to be generous by stopping any Ratoath attack. Eva Salerno and Niamh Murtagh were dominant in the half-back line.
Slane made plenty of changes in the second half but Andrea Carroll and Rhianon Hughes kept the team on the attack and the new players who came in showed up very well; Roisin Mullen and Kerrie Kealy in defence, and Holly Kealy and Hannah Cooke, who scored a great point, in attack.
Slane: Tara Mullen, Aoife Mooney, Rebecca Corcoran, Eva Salerno, Niamh Murtagh, Andrea Carroll, Rhianon Hughes, Maia Searle, Mia Lynch,Bella Salerno, Katie Kealy. Subs: Hannah Cooke, Roisin Mullen, Holly Kealy, Kerrie Kealy.
