Ladies: O'Mahony's goal fest against Dunboyne

Navan O'Mahony's secured another victory in the Division 2 league with a comprehensive victory over Dunboyne on Tuesday night.
The home side got off to an excellent start when Maria Flynn found the net in the opening minutes. It was a very one-sided affair in the opening half with Lauren Patterson and Sarah Stanley slotting over before Elizabeth Oakes found the net. Dunboyne pointed twice in quick succession before further points from Stanley (2), Aedin Murray and Helen Mathews followed by two goals from Sarah Powderly and Oakes opened up an unassailable lead. The scoring didn't finish there and a point from Megan Collins followed by a goal and a point from Stanley added further to the score line. The home defence stayed solid and kept the opposition at bay for long periods in the half. Oakes and Maria Flynn finished the scoring for the home side before Dunboyne finished the scoring in the half with a goal and a point. Half-Time - O'Mahonys 5-10 Dunboyne 1-3.
The second-half was a closer affair with both teams trading scores throughout. The away side added two quick points before these were cancelled out by Stanley and Oakes. The teams traded points again with Maria Flynn pointing for the hoops. Dunboyne added a further three points which were cancelled out by an Aoife Bradley goal. The opposition added one final point before the hoops finished the scoring with points from Mathews and Maria Flynn and a goal from Aedin Murray.
Along with the clinical finishing from the forwards there was also excellent defensive displays from Kathy Butler, Laura Coyle and Karen Conaty.
