St Ultan's claimed their second Junior C Championship victory in consecutive weeks that leaves them on course for a quarter-final place.

It was a hard earned win that after 20 minutes gone in the game looked unlikely. Credit must go to the Ultans for turning it round and claiming the win. Conor Smith opened the scoring with 2 frees. Oldcastle then replied with a free and a bullet of a goal to leave them 2 up. Some poor shooting however let the oldcastle men down and allowed the Ultans to come back into the game. Barry Brady kick started the revival with a good point from play. Derek O brien followed this up with another point to draw the game. Steven Quirke in the space of 10 minutes scored 1-3 without reply to put the Ultans ahead. Derek O Brien then scored a point to leave the halftime score at 1-8 to 1-2 in favour of St Ultans.

The 2nd half started off with 2 oldcastle frees to inject new life into the game. Conor Smith replied with a point from a free. The crucial score of the second half was a goal from Barry Allen after a great cross field pass by Ger Brennan. Brennan followed this up with a score from play. Conor Smith finished the scoring with a point from play. Full time score 2-11 to 1-6.
