Duleek/Bellewstown and Nobber played out a draw in Simonstown on Friday evening in this exciting first round hoganstand.com SFC encounter.
Corner forward Johnny McDonnell opened up the scoring with a fine point in the first minute. Further points from Conal McGinely (0-02) and an excellent point from midfielder Tony Cunningham left it four points apiece at the interval.
John Flood opened up the scoring for the East Meath men after five minutes of play in the second period. On form Johnny McDonnell notched up a further two points and a point each from David Moore and Conal McGinely meant it finished all level at nine points each at full time.
Duleek/Bellewstown had several chances to win the game as Nobber had two men sent off with a few minutes to go.
Best for Duleek/Bellewstown were Kevin McCann and Podge Howard in defence and John Flood and John mc Donnell did well up front.
