Dunboyne's David Clarke gets away from Skryne full back Dwayne Beaton during the Meath SFC semi final at Pairc Tailteann
Mark Battersby was the Skryne goal-scoring hero as they edged out Dunboyne by 2-9 to 2-8 to qualify for their first Keegan Cup decider since 2004 at Pairc Tailteann yesterday.

Managed by former county star Liam Harnan, Skryne made a dream start when Battersby scored the first of his two goals after only a minute. With county goalkeeper Paddy O'Rourke in fine form from placed balls, Skryne went on to lead by 1-4 to 0-5 at the break.

Dunboyne drew level on 1-7 apiece in the 48th minute when Stephen Moran netted, but nine minutes later Battersby added his second after latching onto Ciaran Lenehan's superb pass.

Former League of Ireland player Ger Robinson converted a late penalty for Dunboyne to leave the minimum in it, but they ran out of time as Skryne held on to set up a final showdown with holders Seneschalstown.
