IFC: Nobber win 'Wood derby clash

Nobber won this local derby over Kilmainhamwood in Meath Hill on Saturday evening.

Nobber started brightly and posted three points without reply. Kilmainhamwood fought back with points from Padraic Owens, Harry Corbally and a Stephen Kiernan free. Kilmainhamwood took the lead for the first time with a Ray Magee point. Nobber then pointed a free which a Kiernan point cancelled out. Nobber then scored four points without reply. Magee got the last point of the half to leave two between the sides at the break 0-10 to 0-06

Nobber opened the second half with a point from play and a point from a free. The Wood responded with a point apeice for Michael Shankey and David Russell. Nobber then pointed and shortly after Kilmainhamwood sub Alan Carolan hit the bar and Nobber added to there lead with another point. They went further ahead with a free and a fisted goal that went in off the post. Magee got his third point of the day. Another Nobber free extended the lead. Kiernan then got the last point of the day from a free for the 'Wood.

Best for the Wood were full back Stephen Smith, Colm Gilcreest and Ray Magee.
