U15 FL: Winning start for Moynalty

April 22, 2024

Moynalty's Ewan Gilsenan

Moynalty 4-11 Kilmainhamwood 2-06

Moynalty started their league campaign on a positive note against neighbours Kilmainhwood on Friday evening in Moynalty.

The home team got off to a good start with some well worked scores, including a brilliant long kick pass from James McCabe into Danny Gorman who stuck it in the net. This gave Moynalty a 4 point advantage at the break. Kilmainwood got stuck in and had some great scores of their own which kept the pressure on. However two goals from Henry Pratt in the second half put some breathing space between the two teams.

Moynalty saw the game out with great work ethic by Leo Kavanagh in the middle of the field, Stephen Cassidy keeping it safe at the back and accurate kicking by the Moynalty keeper Patrick Cussen. It was a great game for the spectator, with both teams giving us plenty of goals and tenacious defending.

A special mention to Ewan Gilsenan on his return to play who put in a great performance.
