Trim 2-15 Drumbaragh 1-8

Trim Intermediate football team capped off a great winning weekend for the clubs three football teams. The two premier junior teams had secured victories earlier in the weekend. 

Trim never looked in trouble during this tilt with Drumbaragh and were 1-9 to no score up after twenty minutes in the first half . Drumbaragh scored  two pointed Frees before half time. During the first half Trim’s young star Aaron Lynch kicked two outrageous points from play and again gave his usual high energy performance. Eoin O’Connor rattled the back of the net with a brilliant individual goal after a defense splitting pass from Cieran Joyce. Mark Molloy hit two good points  in the first half.

Half Time: Trim 1-9 Drumbaragh 0-2

The second half began as thee first half did Trim racing forward to score immediately. Drumbaragh could not continue the Trim forwards with , Lynch, O’Conner, Molloy, Joyce and the very impressive Ian Birmingham running riot. Alan Douglas was pulling all the strings I’m at number eleven. Trim were fourteen  points to the good and looked to be going onto  to what seemed to be a very comfortable victory. Drumbaragh then introduced Jimmy Corcoran in the seventh minute of the second half and by the water break in the eighteenth minute young Corcoran had scored a goal and four points , had another goal disallowed and had the Trim full back line in tatters. Many believe that the water breaks are disrupting the games but not to many in the Trim camp will complain about yesterday’s second half water break. In just eleven minutes Jimmy Corcoran had reduced the reds lead to Seven points. After the water break The trim regard had been reorganized and they sniffed out Corcoran’s threat and began taking back their grip on the game . Midfielder Robert Bourke scored the Reds second goal to put Trim ten ahead and the game finished with both teams trading points. 

Trim had many good performances from there team, Ian Birmingham has a very good match scoring two points and his ability to turnover the ball was impressive. In fact Trim turned Drumbaragh over an impressive eleven times in the first half. Aaron Lynch had another good game, he received a heavy challenge right at the start of the match from his two markers which went unpunished by the referee. Eoin O’Conner is settling into the team nicely, Ciaran Joyce as usual won a lot of ball and had another solid match. Alan Douglas and Rob Bourke were very good and their strength running with the ball is a valuable asset to the Team. Mark Molloy again put his name on the score board with two good first half points. Brian Dowling was introduced to the fray with ten minutes to go and hit two lovely points from play and will surely have caught the eye of the Trim management.
