SFC: Second half collapse costs Curraha

August 16, 2020

Curraha's David Toner

Curraha 4 - 8,  Moynalvey 5 - 10.

Curraha who enjoyed a nine point lead at half time will be very disappointed to have lost this game.

Corner forward Diarmuid Moriarty looked very sharp in the first half scoring 2-2. David Toner chipped in with two points from midfield while Jack O'Connor scored a brilliant individual goal just before half time adding to his two earlier points.

Moynalvey started the second half in determined fashion with a pointed free followed by a goal. Curraha's hopes were then dealt a blow with the sending off of David Coyle following an off the ball incident. Moynalvey made the most of their numerical advantage scoring another goal and four points while only conceding a pointed free to lead by a point. Curraha went ahead again as Conor O'Farrell forced a goal after the ball had come back off the crossbar. However after the sides traded points Moynalvey finished stronger scoring a further  2 - 1 to record a five point win.
