IFC: Kelly and Nestor sink Castletown

Blackhall Gaels full back Paddy Brady and keeper Tommy Dalton keep out Kevin Ross (Castletown) during the opening round of the IFC at Summerhill

Blackhall Gaels 3-13  Castletown 0-10

Two first half goals from returning forward James Kelly and a 1-9 tally from Alan Nestor paved the way for an empathic first round win over Castletown in Summerhill.

A first half penalty which was despatched by Nestor and two from play from Kelly gave Blackhall a commanding 3-5 0-3 lead at the break.

Castletown made a spirited comeback in the third quarter but again Nestor kept his Gaels side well ahead with a 5 second half points. Forwards Dermot Carty, Tadhg Brosnan and substitute Johnny Meyler all pitched with second half scores to give Blackhall resounding 3-13 to 0-10 victory. Blackhall take on Kilmainham in round two of the Intermediate Championship.
