IFC: Castletown disappoint in Summerhill

Blackhall Gaels 3-13  Castletown 0-10

Castletown's start in this years Intermediate championship did not go as planned with this 12 point defeat to Blackhall Gaels. 

As early as the first water break the writing was on the wall when Blackhall led by 6 points 1-04 to 0-01 Darren Finney scoring the opening score of the game a point from play. A point from play for Kevin Ross on 18 minutes and another from play for Shane Hoey on 27 minutes left Castletown trailing by 11 at the break 3-05 to 0-03.

The second half started with 6 points being  shared equally inside 10 minutes which started with a Blackhall free on 32 minutes. Blackhall tagged on another point before in the 44th minute Castletowns cause was not helped when Noel Smyth received a second yellow card to see them reduced to 14 men. With Castletown scoring 4 more points and the eventual winners hitting 5 in reply it left 12 points between the sides at the final whistle. Castletowns second half scorers all from play were Damien Ginnitty and Tommy Smith 2 points each and 1 point each for Shane Hoey, Darren Finney and Kevin Ross. 

Castletowns next game is against Dunderry in 2 weeks time in round 2 of this years Intermediate Championship.
