Clonard's "Fantasy Meath Championship"

July 25, 2020

A day that Ratoath thought they would never see. Ciaran O Fearraigh and Garreth Rooney raise the Keegan Cup at Pairc Tailteann

The closing date for Clonard's “Fantasy Meath Championship” competition is July 30th.

With similarities to other Fantasy Football competitions this one is based on five Meath club championships being the three football championships (Senior, Intermediate, and Junior), the Senior Hurling championship, and the Ladies Senior Football championship. Entrants select clubs rather than players and must make 18 club selections across 18 seeded groups (not playing groups).

Teams score points based on results in all their games, which includes various bonus point possibilities. The full format and rules can be viewed on the competition website www.meathgaachampionship.com.

Online entry is done on the website, which includes the overall leaderboard and individual club leaderboards. First prize is €300 with a second prize of €100.

So if you consider yourself an expert in Meath club football here’s a great way to prove it, and for those who aren’t it will still provide fun and enjoyment as the leaderboard changes very quickly when results are updated after each game, with thanks to the official www.meath.gaa.ie website. You could even beat the experts.

Best of luck!
