Coimhlint dén scoth go háirithe sa dara leath ar oíche fhuar ghaofar, gheimhriúil I Dunganny. Moladh do Odhrán Ó Beaglaoich a rinne óraid as Gaeilge ag deireadh an chluiche.

Bhulf Tón & Ballinabrackey met in a cold & windy Dunganny last night in the Div 3 Minor Championship Final in a renewal of their Summer League Final encounter.

The opening quarter of the game was a cagey affair with both teams trading points, however the momentum swung with the Bracks in the 20th minute when they goaled & hit the front 1-3 to 0-4. Both teams traded quick points but it was the boys from the south west of the county who were playing the best of the football & they dominated the last 10 minutes of the half, rattling of three quick points, the latter of which was a certain goal only for a brilliant block by the impressive Eoin Donegan. The half time whistle rescued the Tones lads from a dominant Ballinabrackey and the Dunganny dressing rooms provided a welcome refuge for them to refocus on the up coming half.

Scór Leath-ama – Bhulf Tón 0-5 – Buaile na Breachmhaí 1-7

Whatever the warmth of the dressing room done, the Tones boys came out like a different team in the second half. The Tones mentors made some positional switches and introduced Shane McGarry to the full forward position. The Tones boys pushed up on the Ballinabrackey kickout & brought a vigour & aggression to their play which was absent in the first half. They rattled in 1-2 in the opening five minutes of the half, Oisín Martin and Kyle Moran pointing with Jason Carr finding the net. Ballinabrackey then scored a fine 45 but this was the last time they were to lead as the Tones team notched it up another gear.

Sean Penny began to dominate and when he added a fine score to two previous from wing back Odhrán Ó Beaglaoich & Kyle Moran the Tones looked to be moving into a strong position. However the Bracks kept at it and tipped over two points to leave it 1-10 to 1-9 but then up stepped young Scott Corrigan with a fine goal and the game looked to be finally swinging the Tones way with  ten minutes remaining.

Ó Beaglaoich & Shane Mcgarry added another brace & when some fine work by Alex Penny resulted in him picking out Evan Corrigan with a beautiful pass the result was confirmed as Corrigan crashed the ball home 3-12 to 1-10. Ballinabrackey got a late goal but there was no come back as a committed Tones team closed out the deal.

Credit to both teams who played an excellent game in tough conditions. Credit also to Odhran Ó Beaglaoich & Oisín Martin who delivered winning orations in Irish & English respectively. Paying tribute to the recently deceased Fintan Ginnitty.

This victory is the conclusion of our underage season & this group won the minor Spring League also, testament to the great work going on at underage level in CLG Bhulf Tón.

Proud of our club, proud of our history, proud of our language, proud of our games. Tones Abú. Keep The Faith.
