There was brief mention of the resignation of former Chairman Peter O'Halloran at last night county committee gathering in Dunganny.

At the start of the meeting acting chairman John Kavanagh told delegates that he had been asked by management to take over as chairman following the recent resignation of Peter O’Halloran.

After been sanctioned by delegates the St Ultan’s club man said that as an investigation was ongoing he wouldn’t be allowing any discussion on the subject of the former chairman’s resignation.

“I would ask delegates to respect that, as we don’t want to compromise the investigation. There will be plenty of time at the next meeting to discuss it,” Kavanagh said.

Later in the meeting secretary Mairead Delaney said she wanted to clarify that Peter O’Halloran resigned himself, contradicting some media reports that he had been asked to resign.
