Nobber's Jordan Morris

Nobber 3-13  Drumbaragh 2-10

Nobber and Drumbaragh played out an entertaining Round 3 game in the excellent surroundings of Meath Hill. The game was re-arranged as it fell victim to the heavy downpours the previous Saturday.

Nobber had the aid of the breeze in the first half and started brightly with a Brian Farrell point in the opening minute. Drumbaragh got going with a good DJ Carry point from play. In what was a very exciting first half Nobber continued to push on with scores from Dale Larkin, Jordan Morris, Thomas Murtagh, Brian Farrell and Sean Meade putting them 8 points ahead. Drumbaragh rallied in the last 5 minutes of the 1st half to bring the gap back to 5.

HT: Nobber 1-10 Drumbaragh 1-5

Drumbaragh flew out of the traps in the 2nd half. They had a goal within a minute from the restart with Conor Lynch finishing to the roof of the net. That made it a 2 point game and Drumbaragh had the favour of the wind for the 2nd half. Nobber settled with a Brian Farrell free immediately and soon after Andrew O' Brien found the net with a low hard shot by the Drumbaragh keeper. Jordan Morris and Brian Farrell tagged along more points to keep the scoreboard ticking in Nobber's favour. Eanna Fagan got sent off with 15 minutes remaining after a 2nd yellow card. Drumbaragh piled on the pressure but Nobber remained resilient. After an excellent break up the field from a turnover, Stephen O' Brien found Fiachra McEntee who finished smartly past the keeper at his near post. Drumbaragh tagged on a late free but the whistle sounded soon after.

This result leaves Nobber top of Group A on 5 points out of 6 and Drumbaragh in 5th position with 2 points out of 6. Without playing a championship match since Easter Sunday 4 months ago, Nobber now have a 6 day turn around when they will face Ballinlough this coming Friday 23rd August in Castletown while Drumbaragh face Meath Hill in Nobber the Sunday also in Round 4.
