Balinabrackey ...................... 1-12
Duleek-Bellewstown .............. 0-12

Bannon fisted David Carroll's delivery to the net at the town end to earn Ballinabrackey a 1-2 to 0-3 lead that they took to the finish.

Ballinabrackey doubled that lead by half-time, 1-7 to 0-6, and it sustained them against Duleek-Bellewstown's second-half rally.

Duleek-Bellewstown might have claimed the competition for intermediate football teams but inaccuracy proved their downfall.

The east county side posted eight second-half wides. In a low scoring final quarter John Flood (free) got them to within a point of Ballinabrackey.

Duleek-Bellewstown were just a point off the pace, 0-12 to 1-10, after 50 minutes. However, they didnt manage another score.

Ballinabrackey closed in on the silverward with two Chris O'Connor pointed frees in the latter stages.

Some alert defensive play prevented Dean McNamee from netting what might have been a cup-clinching goal. Despite a number of misplaced passes, Ballinabrackey's resilience was rewarded.

Playing towards the towards the town and backed by a diminishing wind, Ballinabrackey had the better of the first-half.

Trevor Bannon's 14th minute goal, a fisted effort from David Carroll's delivery restored Ballinabrackey's lead, 1-2 to 0-3, which they took to the interval when the board read 1-7 to 0-6.
