HL Div 4B: O'Meara fires Ratoath to victory

Ratoath 1-16,  Rathmoylon 1-09

Played in ideal conditions in Rathmoylon Ratoath's third hurling team playing their fourth match achieved a great hard fought win.

Stephen Rice opened the scoring in the second minute with a fine finish for a point.

This was followed shortly with a point from a free by Damien O'Meara. 

Ratoath maintained their early dominance with points from play by P Butler and O'Meara.

Rathmoylon then had their purple patch when they scored 4points,  2 from play and 2 frees to bring them level .

3 points from frees by O'Meara put Ratoath on top again. 

O'Meara from play and a Rathmoylon point from play   followed.

With almost half time approaching the  Rathmoylon number 11 slipped inside the defence to kick a goal.

Ratoath started the second half With points from play by Cody andO'Meara quickly followed by a goal from McGoldrick to take control of the game. 

Fine midfield and half back play restricted Rathmoylon to no score for the First 15 minutes of the second half and to 3 points from frees in the next 5 minutes. Meanwhile scoring 6 points themselves all from play.

3 great saves by Ger Clarke playing his first game in goal, and some fine interceptions by S McCann and A McLearnon contributed to a fine all round team win.
