Last words of advice for Dunderry before their IFC clash with Blackhall Gaels in Moynalvey

In round 2 action on a scorching Saturday afternoon in the pristine surroundings of Moynalvey GFC, Dunderry faced Blackhall Gaels in what promised to be an entertaining game played in perfect conditions.
Dunderry once again got off to a lightening start with early scores from the inside duo of Coogan and Adam Kelly who have both been in fine form of late. In what could have been a huge blow captain, Conor Farrell then recieved a black card after 8 minutes after he was adjudged to have committed a cynical foul, fear not, Oisin Martin, Adam Kelly x 3 and Coogan x 3 added further scores along with a boomer from Morgan Callaghan on the stroke of half time to send Dunderry in at the break leading 0-11 to 0-6.
Second half began and Blackhall started the brighter finding some joy and closing the gap but once again when the pressure was on Dunderry remained calm and in a 10 minute spell racked up 1-6, Coogan contributing 1-3, Conor O'Shea, the lively Oisin Martin and Kelly once again getting in on the action.
Blackhall came again and had a brief dominant spell but Davy McCormack, Aero Newman and co were having none of it. David Jennings produced a fine save in the 50th minute and a goal at that point would have given the Gaels some life but Jennings stood strong.
Coogan & Kelly weren't finished yet both adding another point each, O'Shea added another beauty from long range and Oisin Martin tagged on his third of the day.
Dunderry will be very pleased with a great team performance and some excellent individual performances from attackers Coogan (1-8) and Kelly (0-6) and defensively as a unit to keep another clean sheet.
Focus now switches back to league football for the next 3 months until championship action returns later in the summer.
