November 12, 2018

Ratoath's Cian Rogers

Holders Ratoath were knocked out of the Meath U21 hurling championship at the semi final stage by na Fianna at the Meath GAA Centre of Excellence.

Na Fianna 2-16 Ratoath 2-15

Jack McGowan’s charges were first out of the trap with a point in the first minute, in an exciting but ultimately frustrating game against Na Fianna. In a game of nip and tuck Na Fianna were dominating in the first half leading by three points but at half time it was level - Ratoath 1-7 Na Fianna 0-10

In the second half Na Fianna began to dominate but the boys in blue never gave up and continued to pile on the pressure. Cian  Rogers struck the net following a penalty for a foul on Daithi McGowan in the 25th minute followed by two more pointed frees from Rogers but ultimately Ratoath were beaten by the smallest of margins 2-16 to 2-15.
