June 18, 2018

Kildalkey's Kevin McKeon

Kildalkey 0-12 Kilmessan 0-8

Following on from their senior game on Friday night Kildalkey and Kilmessan locked horns again this time in the Intermediate championship at Dunderry.

Both sides had met earlier in the year in the Division 3 HL with Kildalkey winning by 2 points and this was another tight affair with scores hard to come by with nothing much between the teams .

Kilmessan started the better with 2 frees but Daire Lehart sneaked in for a point for Kildalkey followed by a long range Ross Flynn point from play. Flynn who was Kildalkey's top scorer with 9 points in total went on to hit the next 3 points from frees and a point from Andy Fagan wrapped up the first half scoring for Kildalkey who led by the minimum at half time 0-6 to 0-5 .

Flynn continued to keep the scoreboard ticking along with 5 more frees and Andy Fagan with a point from near the corner flag sealed the win and got Kildalkey off the mark and sealed the win and the 2 points.

Kevin and Brendan McKeon and Cathal O Sullivan tried hard in the backs while Flynn, Fagan and Cathal Egan who won a few vital frees done their bit up front
