O'Mahony expecting tough opening encounter

Mayo manager John O'Mahony is happy his side have received a home draw in this years Connacht championship but expects a tough battle with Sligo presuming they beat London in the first round.
Mayo face the winners of London and Sligo in the Connacht semi-final and O'Mahony expects nothing easy should the Yeats County come through.
"It's going to be a tough match if it's Sligo we have to face in the semi-final. But we have them at home in Castlebar and at least we won't be playing them as early as May 17 as we had to last season.
"Sligo are the Connacht champions and will be determined to hold onto their crown so we'll be expecting a very tough match in McHale Park," exclaimed O'Mahony.
The former Galway manager explained his training plans for the Mayo men over the winter.
"We'll be having a number of trial games in the next few weeks and we will be selecting a panel shortly. Some of the squad are weight training at the moment and the plan between now and Christmas is to combine gym work with some outdoor sessions and trial games," added O'Mahony.
