O'Mahony enthused by 'plenty of positives'
July 09, 2007
Mayo manager John O'Mahony expressed himself pleased with his side's six-point defeat of Cavan, remarking that there were plenty of positives to extract from the tie.
O'Mahony reshuffled his pack for the clash with Cavan and one of the noticeable features of these changes was the debut of Barry Moran at full-forward and the Mayo boss was pleased with his donation to the action.
''We tried out things today. Some of them worked. Some of them didn't, but we began what I would see as the rehabilitation of the team following the Connaught championship,'' O'Mahony said.
''Barry did well. He's a good lad. He was on the panel earlier in the year, but he had a lot of injuries. I was glad today we blooded a few young fellows for championship. There was a good freshness and some positives out there,'' he added.
